Keynote Speakers

Sophia F. Dziegielewski is a Professor and Editor of the Journal of Social Service Research recently completing her term as Dean of the School of Social Work, University of Cincinnati (UC), Cincinnati, Ohio.

Educational qualifications include her MSW and Ph.D. in Social Work from Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL.

Dr. Dziegielewski is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the State of Ohio. As Dean at the University of Cincinnati an independent school of social work she supported the program as it exhibited phenomenal growth starting with 220 students and ending her term with over 540. Prior to arriving at UC she was a professor at the University of Central Florida where she also served as Chairperson for the University of Central Florida Human Subjects Review Board, where she presided over all human subjects research at this large (43, 000 students) metropolitan university. Throughout her social work academic and practice career she has been active in health and mental health clinical practice.

In the national magazine "Social Worker Today" in 2003 a feature story about Dr. Dziegielewski referred to her as a "legend" in her field. She is the recipient of numerous awards, and supports her research and practice activity with over 120 publications, including 7 textbooks, numerous articles and book chapters and over 500 workshops and community presentations.
