Advice for Poster Presenters
Posters will be an important aspect of Changing Health 2010. A poster presentation is a visual display which can cover research, clinical practice or service development relating to one of the Conference sub-themes. The presenter will be expected to be available for questions and discussion with the conference audience at designated breaks.
The Scientific Committee recommends that delegates who have not presented at an international conference before or whose research study or practice initiative is at an early stage should strongly consider submitting a poster. The presenters of the two best overall posters as judged by the Scientific Committee will be invited to present their work to the Conference audience on the final day of the conference and will be awarded prizes of €400 each.
Important Information
- Abstract submission opened on Tuesday 19th May 2009 and will close on Wednesday 30th September 2009 at 23.59hrs GMT. Abstracts must be submitted in English, and all communication from the abstract committee will be in English. Presentations and posters must also be in English.
- All abstracts should be submitted using the link on this page.
- Any abstracts submitted after the closing date may not be considered.
- As part of the submission process authors will be asked their preference for an oral presentation or a poster presentation; otherwise the Scientific Committee will decide the mode of presentation of successful abstracts.
- At least one of the authors of any abstract must agree to register for the meeting as a paying delegate. One of the authors must also agree to present their work in an oral or poster format as decided by the abstract judging panel. Although this individual need not be the first author it will be assumed to be the first author unless the Scientific Committee are informed otherwise.
- Abstracts should generally not have been accepted for presentation at another national or international meeting, although this rule is open to interpretation if the audiences of the two meetings were different. Please email the Scientific Committee for guidance on this matter.
- Specific instructions will be emailed to the provided email address of successful authors at least 14 days before the early-bird booking closes.
- Changing Health 2010 expects to receive more abstract submissions than there is time to present, or space to display at its scientific meeting. All abstracts that are submitted in accordance with the instructions above will be judged by a panel of anonimised reviewers, who will score each abstract based on merit. Some abstracts may therefore not be accepted for presentation at this meeting.
Unfortunately it will not be possible to give individual authors feedback on their work, as the abstracts are scored anonymously.
